Seeking a grant from the Livonia Community Foundation

Annually the Livonia Community Foundation reviews grant applications submitted by 501(c)3 not-for-profit organizations serving the residents of the City of Livonia for programs and projects which they believe meet the mission of the Foundation.  Generally, the Livonia Community Foundation does not provide grants for administrative or operational activities.  


The application is due to the Foundation by the 15th of March; are reviewed by a committee of the Foundation Board of Trustees and grants are presented in the spring.  Any organization that receives a grant from the Livonia Community Foundation is required to submit a final report and summarize the outcome of their project or program the LCF funded. Some items to include: Was it a success? How did it impact the residents of Livonia? Is it a continuing program? Did you give credit to LCF in your communication about the effort? Our grant application process is an online process, please submit below.

  1. Angela Hospice - $7,520 - Supporting the Life Review Journals which will provide solace and comfort to families as they cherish memories and celebrate the lives of their loved ones who have passed

  11. Livonia Kids and Families - $5,000 - Supporting funding to increase refrigerated food variety for kids and families in need
  12. Passport to Safety - $1,500 - Supporting Livonia Passport to Safety 2024
  13. Livonia Symphony Orchestra - $7,500 - Helping to sponsor the 2024 Patriotic and Pops Free Community Concert held at the Kirksey Community Center
  14. Michigan Jazz Festival - $7,500 - Supporting the 2024 Michigan JAZZ Festival events in Livonia 
  15. Mi Work Matters - Anastasia & Katie's Coffee Shop - $3,120 - Supporting their 2024 Livonia Community Social Programming
  16. New Hope Center for Grief Support - $3,120 - Supporting the 2024 Annual Kids Camp for learning healthy coping skills 
  17. Seedlings Braille Books for Children - $1,650 - Supporting early intervention and preschool programs for the Visually Impaired and providing braille books for Livonia Public Library patrons with vision loss
  18. The Senior Alliance - $5,000 - Supporting supplemental transportation for Livonia seniors in particular to destinations outside the city 

  1.  The Arc of  Northwest Wayne County - $2,500 - Serve 100 families (80 from Livonia) keeping services free and accessible to parents   
  2. The Senior Alliance - $5,000 - Older Adult Transportation Service program provides 200 rides to Livonia adults over the age of 60 and caregivers

  18. Mi Work Matters/Anastasia and Katie's Coffee Shop - $3,270 - Address lack of inclusion for tweens, teens and adults with developmental disabilities

  3. First Step, Western Wayne County Project on Domestic Assault – $5,000 – Outreach to victims in Livonia

Additional Information

The Livonia Community Foundation is a permanent endowment ‑ a trust fund - built from donations from individuals, families, estates, corporations, & private organizations in the community. The Foundation is an approved 501(c)3 charitable organization and is State of Michigan Certified (# 55). Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.

The Livonia Community Foundation mission is:
 · To promote and develop community resources, properties and civic treasures;
 · To promote, support and develop public interest in the arts and other local cultural undertakings; and

 · To promote programs that contribute to the welfare of the community and the needs of its citizens

The Foundation's assets are conservatively invested under strict State and Federal laws and the return on investment is used to support the Foundation's programs and commitments.  The Foundation supports, through monetary donations, Livonia's charitable, cultural, historical, educational, and recreational institutions, projects and programs meeting the mission of the Foundation.

In 2022 the Livonia Community Foundation provided $53,000 in grants to eighteen 501(c)3 not for profit charitable organizations serving the needs of the Livonia community.  Since its inception in 1995 the LCF has provided $630,635 in grants back to the community.
